About Leah

For the first ten years of her art career, Leah Markowitz painted in watercolor. Her initial love of this medium found her in her studio every day for hours. The next phase was the study and practice of abstract art in acrylics. This approach to art offered freedom, yet at the same time required courage and self-reliance. She learned to listen to what the painting needed and used all her previous training. She soon found that many of the principles from her earlier training had become second nature.

She lives with her husband, Alan and two cats Silky and Lucy.
